Arm Lift in Houston, TX
Weight fluctuations and natural aging cause the skin on the upper arm to stretch and become loose, and fat deposits to accumulate. Over time, these conditions can cause embarrassing arm flaps to hang off the upper arms.
Arm lift surgery, also known as brachioplasty, reshapes the upper arm to produce more slender and toned contours.
Am I a Candidate for Arm Lift Surgery?
Candidates for arm lift surgery do not smoke, are in good overall health, and have realistic expectations of their results.
Because Dr. Kronowitz performs liposuction arm lift surgery, patients should have some skin elasticity in their upper arms.
What Are the Benefits of an Arm Lift?
Women choose arm lift surgery to:
- Improve upper arm contour
- Create the look of enhanced musculature
- Wear the clothing they want
- Tighten the arm without an extensive scar
- Restore their confidence

How Is Arm Lift Surgery Performed?
Arm lift surgery improves the contours of the upper arms by:
- Eliminating stubborn fat deposits
- Tightening the underlying tissues
- Achieving better definition and shape
Arm Lift Using Liposuction
Dr. Kronowitz utilizes liposuction during his arm lifts because it liquefies the fat and tightens the loose skin on the arms. His upper arm liposuction technique results in the long-term tightening of the arm without cutting. This technique can be referred to as a scarless arm lift.
During arm liposuction, small incisions are made discreetly in the arm that are just large enough to insert a cannula, a thin, hollow tube that first disrupts and then suctions out the unwanted fat pockets in the upper arm. This process not only removes unwanted, diet and exercise-resistant fat, but it also helps to tighten loose skin.
Because he does not use the traditional arm lift incisions — which can extend from the armpit to the elbow, qualifying patients will not develop a noticeable scar. Patients are both surprised and delighted with how toned their arms appear without an extensive scar.
Minimal scarring may develop from the liposuction incisions. These will fade over time to become nearly inconspicuous.
Should I Combine My Arm Lift With Another Surgery?
Arm lift surgery can be combined with liposuction on neighboring body areas to enhance your body contouring results further.
Arm Lift Surgery After Significant Weight Loss
Arm lift surgery is commonly a part of an upper body lift after significant or massive weight loss, whether from natural means or bariatric surgery. This procedure involves removing remaining fat pockets and excess skin from the upper arms (which can extend past the elbow if necessary). Plastic surgery after weight loss can involve skin removal in all areas of the body and may include several plastic surgery techniques, including liposuction, thigh lift surgery, lower body lift surgery, and butt lift.
How Long Is My Arm Lift Recovery?
You may be bruised, swollen, and sore following your arm lift. Your arms may be covered with compression garments to help reduce swelling and pain. Discomfort can be lessened with prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication.
Most patients return to their day-to-day activities after one week. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for four to six weeks.
Will I Have Scars After My Arm Lift?
Scars develop after all plastic surgery procedures that require incisions. Usually, plastic surgery incisions are made in areas that are easy to conceal with clothing. Unfortunately, this can be challenging with arm lift surgery since all parts of the arm are often exposed, especially during warmer, summer months. Fortunately, Dr. Kronowitz prefers to only use liposuction when possible to perform arm lift surgery. This allows for very small scars which are imperceivable once the area heals. Because of this, many of Dr. Kronowitz’s Houston arm lift patients do not have to worry about extensive scarring after their arm lift.
For patients who choose an arm lift after significant weight loss, and who have significant hanging skin, incisions may be necessary along the inside of the arm that can extend from the armpit to the elbow. These patients may develop visible scarring when they lift their arms; however, most patients feel that this scar is an easy trade-off for the slimmer, more contoured arm results they achieve.
Scars can be lessened by using topical scar creams, undergoing laser scar treatments, and keeping the healing incisions out of the sun. Additionally, it is important not to return to heavy lifting or strenuous exercise too soon after surgery, so you do not cause the healing incisions to separate, thus widening the resulting scar.
As with all plastic surgery procedures, arm lift scars (whether from arm liposuction or skin excision) will fade with time.
How Much Does Arm Lift Surgery Cost in Houston, TX?
The total cost of your arm lift surgery will depend on the extent of the procedure in addition to anesthesia fees, facility fees, surgeon’s fees, and pre-surgical tests. Your Houston arm lift cost will be determined after your consultation once Dr. Kronowitz has established the appropriate treatment plan for you. This price estimate will include any additional procedures or techniques chosen or needed.
At Kronowitz Plastic Surgery, the cost of your arm lift begs at $2,340.
When Will I See My Arm Lift Results?
Most patients are thrilled about their thinner and more contoured arms following a scarless arm lift or traditional arm lift surgery and are often eager to show off their results in arm-bearing outfits. Even though patients want to show off their results immediately following their procedure, they should expect their results to develop gradually.
You will notice the full extent of your arm lift once the bruising and swelling subside—usually in a few weeks.
The results of an arm lift are generally permanent as long as the patient maintains a healthy lifestyle. This surgery does not prevent the aging process, and the arms will continue to age over time.
